'Samantha' means listener of God - it's derived from Samuel, who said "Speak, Lord. I'm listening," when God called his name 4 times and Samuel thought Eli had called him the previous 3 times until Eli told him that it was the Lord calling him. We hope you'll always listen to God's Word and of course be a doer of his Word too.
'Ruth' means friend. But we didn't choose this name because of this meaning - we chose it because we were studying the book of Ruth before you were born and we were drawn to her character. Ruth was the young Moabite widow who said to her Hebrew mother-in-law Naomi, "Where you go, there I shall go also; your people will be my people, your God, my God." And we hope that you as a Gentile too will be drawn to follow God. And we thought it'd be nice to keep the tradition of having a second name, since your great grandpa's time... though it'd be quite tedious for you to write your full name especially during exams... :) but it's quite fun to have a second name and it makes your name more unique! :)
'En' translated means grace and 'Qi' translated means amazing so when they're put together, we hope you'll always remember God's amazing grace shown in saving us through Jesus Christ.
We're so glad the Lord has given you to us and we pray that you'll grow up a lovely girl who loves God wholeheartedly, living for Him alone because God is truly the most important.
